Prior to seminary, Tom worked as a political activist and as a housing organizer at Rosie’s Place in Boston. In his ministry, Tom has created multi-generational worship and taught all ages. He is particularly proud of achieving a 30% increase in stewardship results at Grafton. Tom has a partner named Cas who directs the Weymouth Food Pantry. She and Tom met at seminary in Berkeley. They have no children.
Here are Tom’s words in answer to the ministry he hopes for:
“I hope to serve a congregation that:
- is interested in powerful worship
- emphasizes warm and inclusive community
- desires richer community engagement
- values collaboration, innovation, and relevance
- looks forward to the challenges of spiritual growth.
Recognizing that none of us is perfect, I hope for a congregation with whom I can develop a sense of shared trust, so that we can all reach outside of our comfort zones and grow together.”
