Alliance for Immigration Justice (AIJ)

The Mission of the Alliance for Immigration Justice is to address the many injustices perpetrated against undocumented immigrants by holding educational forums, engaging in public witness, supporting legislative initiatives, and providing compassionate assistance to those within the jails and those most at risk within our community and our state.

This Alliance for Immigration Justice was started by members of FPBUU to address issues related to the injustices immigrants without papers often face. We study and take action in light of current unacceptable immigration policies and meet once per month (or more) for study, planning and event planning: forums, vigils, and more. We invite other religious and secular institutions and groups work with us in collaborative efforts to make change.

First Parish Brewster Unitarian Universalist is a member church of the Boston New Sanctuary Movement.

Vigil History:
Since June, 2013 we have held several vigils a year at the Plymouth County Correctional Facility. Each day over 200 immigrants are detained by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) at the Plymouth facility.
